  • In April 1944, whilst doing surveillance of the sea lane approach to Port of Spain, Trinidad, the air failure of the port engine and an inexperience pilot crashed the plane while ditching, forcing the crew to exit through the shattered cockpit, they spent about four hours in the Dinghy, with only two Mae Wests between the four surviours (The Goldfish Club).
