  • Tangaroa Tangaroa, served with the Coastwatchers as a Radio Operator on Penrhyn Atoll, Cook Islands. In 1958, Tangaroa was elected to the Cook Islands, first Legislative Assembly and then seved as a member of parliment for Penrhyn until 1983. In 1985 he came the first Cook Islander to be elected the Queen's Representative.

    Coastwatchers did not attest as part of the New Zealand Defence Force and are not eligible for medallic recognition. AWMM
