  • Attached to the Workshop Platoon by Qantas and was then promoted during his service by Korea from Sub Corporal to Temporary Sergeant, then Staff Sergeant, and finally Warrant Officer, he then became Workshop Warrant Officer. He was also apart of the Territorial Force, 3rd Company, Royal New Zealand Army Service Corps, and then later changed to the Royal New Zealand Electrical and Mechanical Engineers, 163 Battery, and 3 Infantry Workshops 1965-74. He later became Major and recieved a Bachelor of Arts, Diploma Teaching, Royal New Zealand Army Education Corps, and later went on to earn a Masters of Arts and a Masters of Education.
