    • Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (MBE) AWMM
      King's Birthday Honours, 1946 "A Pilot of exceptional ability, Squadron Leader Dunstan has a particularly fine record with the RNZAF. Following highly distinguished and valuable service as a flying instructor he obtained his chance to proceed on operations eraly in 1944, when he was attached to No. 6 Flying Boat Squadron. Subsequently he ompleted two tours of operations involving 65 missions and 481 flying hours. His fine airmanship and outstanding qualities of leadership were soon recognised and he was appointed a flight commander for his second tour. At all times Squadron Leader Dunstan displayed the greatest coolness and resourcefulness; as operational captain he was an outstanding example and inspiration to both his crew and Squadron. His devotion to duty throughout his Air Force career has been of the highest order." AWMM
