  • Served with the Royal Navy during Malaya and New Zealand Navy during Operation Grapple. Served in Operation Grapple on HMNZ Pukaki from 4.10.1956 to 30.9.1957. He also served at Ngataringa Bay and the RNZN communications base at Waiouru, HMNZS IRIRANSI.
