  • Born in Cornwall UK 18 September 1921. Eric was Cornish born emigrating to NZ with his family. He served as a pilot with 630 squadron ( also at East Kirby) and flew 36 operations. Post war he remained in the UK. Citation Distinguished Flying Cross (21 Sep 1945): [630 Sqn RAF (Lancaster)] Acting Flight Lieutenant Harris, as Pilot, has completed numerous operations against the enemy, in the course of which he has invariably displayed the utmost fortitude, courage and devotion to duty. Flt Lt Harris completed 36 sorties during this tour.
