"Pilot Officer Singer, a keen and dependable captain of aircraft, has taken part in many operational sorties and has always pressed home his attacks with outstanding courage, initiative and determination. Showing great reliability both in the air and on the ground this officer has set a splendid example to all. In October, 1942, he was detailed to participate in the raid on Le Creusot and although his windscreen had been smashed and the flight engineer injured by a collision with a bird, he pressed on and completed his mission. Early, in 1943, within a short period Pilot Officer Singer made attacks on Nuremberg, Cologne, Berlin and Hamburg on each occasion bombing the target successfully. Invariably this officer has displayed great courage and devotion to duty." AWMM
