Father of Robert T. Feary - George Lionel Feary of Ikamatua, Westland. During World War 1 George served as a Sapper with the 1NZEF Tunnelling Company (NZ Engineers) and helped to construct the Arras Tunnels at France.

  • Son of (World War 1 Sapper) George Lionel Feary and Katherine Feary of Ikamatua, Westland. George served during World War 1 with the New Zealand Engineers, Tunnelling Company. In France he helped to construct the Arras Tunnels. George died 1955 at Ikamatua, Westland.

    Brother of Private Doran George Feary : 2NZEF 456133 - New Zealand Infantry - killed in action at Medicina, Italy on 18 April 1945. Doran was fighting alongside a Gurkha Company when he was killed by German-fired mortar shell fire. Doran is buried at Faenza War Cemetery, Italy.

    Grandson of Thomas & Madelina Feary - of Wakefield, Nelson District.

    Robert's uncles ran saw mills at Stillwater, West Coast. Public - Jenifer - Researcher - 24 March 2023 - Family : Jenifer Lemaire (Wairarapa, New Zealand).
