  • Arthur sailed to England on the RMS Rangitiki on 9 March 1939 with friends to watch the Isle of Man TT Races. They had all raced at Western Springs Motorcycle Speedway and also Waiheke Island TT Races alongside Alf Mattson & Putt Mossman.

On the 1939 UK Register, Arthur was living in Deptford, Kent, while working as an assembler in a Sheet Metal Works in Deptford.

After WWII ended, Arthur sailed to South Africa on the Sobieski via Port Said and about 18 months later sailed to New York on the SS Greece Victory. He stayed in New York until he received his naturalisation papers and moved to California where he was employed by the Lockheed Aircraft Company in Pasadena. AWMM
