    Proceeded from Reserve Group, Sling Camp, overseas to France, 11 February 1917; marched in to NZ Base Depot, Etaples, 13 February 1917.
    Admitted to No 24 General Hospital, Etaples, 29 March 1917; discharged to No 6 Convalescent Camp, 6 April 1917. Transferred to No 5 Convalescent Camp, Cayeux, 7 April 1917; to NZ Base Depot, Etaples, 28 June 1917. Joined Bn, in the field, and posted to B Company, 24 August 1917.
    Detached to 2nd Army Rest Camp, 2 October 1917; rejoined Bn, in the field, 14 October 1917.
    Detached to 2nd Field Company, NZ Engineers, 12 December 1917; rejoined unit, in the field, 23 February 1918.
    To United Kingdom on leave, 7 March 1918; rejoined unit from leave, 23 March 1918.
    Wounded in action, 26 March 1918 (gun shot wound, left thigh and arm: severe), and admitted to No 100 Field Ambulance; transferred to 24th General Hospital, 27 March 1918; to No 6 Stationary Hospital, 27 March 1918; to England, 1 April 1918, and admitted to Bethnal Green Military Hospital, London, 2 April 1918. Transferred to No 1 NZ General Hospital, Brockenhurst, 28 April 1918; to NZ Convalescent Hospital, Hornchurch, and subsequently, 27 June 1918, classified by Medical Board as unfit for further service, and place on NZ Roll.
    Discharged to NZ Discharge Depot, Torquay, 14 August 1918.
    Commenced return to New Zealand from Plymouth on board 'Ayrshire', 6 November 1918; discharged, 11 April 1919 (no longer physically fit for war on account of wounds received in action). AWMM
