    Charged, 30 January 1916, with (1) absence without leave from 10 pm, 28 January, to 1200, 29 January 1916; (2) drunkenness: reprimanded.
    Transferred to and taken on strength of 2nd Pioneer Bn, 16 March 1916.
    Embarked Alexandria to join the British Expeditionary Force, 19 March 1916; disembarked Marseilles, France, 26 March 1916.
    Admitted to 6th Australian Field Ambulance, 9 May 1916 (cardiac irregularity); transferred to 8th Casualty Clearing Station, 10 May 1916; to Ambulance Train No 18, 13 May 1916, and admitted same day to 26th General Hospital, Etaples; transferred to England, 23 May 1916, and admitted to 3rd London General Hospital, Wandsworth,
