    Posted to Canterbury Mounted Rifles Squadron, 3 March 1918.
    Admitted to No 2 Australian Stationary Hospital, Moascar, 17 March 1918 (scarlatina); discharged to duty, 14 April 1918.
    Admitted to 14th Australian General Hospital from Rest Camp, Port Said, 24 April 1918 (measles); transferred to Rest Camp, Port Said, 15 May 1918; rejoined unit, Moascar, 29 May 1918.
    Admitted to 47th Stationary Hospital, 25 September 1918 (malaria); discharged to Aotea Convalescent Home, 15 October 1918.
    Commenced return to New Zealand from Suez on board HS 'Wiltshire', 26 December 1918; discharged, 30 April 1919 (no longer physically fit for Active Service on account of illness contracted on Active Service).
