  • Reported to 1st Light Horse Regiment, Gallipoli, 25 October 1915. Disembarked Alexandria, Egypt, 27 December 1915 (general Gallipoli evacuation).
    Proceeded to join the Western Frontier Force, 14 January 1916. Wounded in action, Romani, 9 August 1916 (gun shot wound, right arm); admitted to No. 3 Australian General Hospital, Abbassia, 11 August 1916. Embarked from Suez for return to Australia on board 'Ascanius', 2 September 1916.
    Re-embarked from Sydney, 19 December 1917, on board HT 'Ulysses'; disembarked Suez, 16 January 1918. Taken on strength, 1st Light Horse Regiment, 20 April 1918. Admitted to hospital, 16 July 1918 (periostitis, left leg); rejoined Regiment, 10 September 1918.
    Admitted to 31st General Hospital, Abbassia, 21 October 1918 (malaria, severe); transferred to Convalescent Depot, 29 October 1918; rejoined regiment, 7 December 1918.
    Commenced return to Australia on board HT 'Ulimaroa', 18 March 1919; discharged, 28 March 1919.
