    Corporal N. W. Simpson,
    Corporal Neville Wynn' Simpson, who was serving with the Australian forces in France, died of wounds on July 29. Corporal Simpson, who was better known as "Jim," entered the Bank of New South Wales after leaving the Napier High School, being stationed at Napier, Dannevlrke, New Plymouth, and was then transferred to Australia. He enlisted at Sydney early in 1915, and was several months on Gallipoli before being invalided to England, sick. : He had been in France since March. While at New Plymouth Corporal Simpson was a member of the United Service Cricket Club and New Plymouth Golf Club.
