  • Commenced return to Australia on board HT 'Shropshire', 1 April 1919; disembarked Melbourne, 6 May 1919; discharged (medically unfit), Sydney, 16 April 1920.
    Death attributed to war service.

    Embarked, 15 November 1916; disembarked Devonport, England, 29 January 1917, and marched in to Sling Camp.
    Proceeded overseas to France, 1 March 1917; marched in to New Zealand Base Depot, Etaples, 3 March 1917.
    To Segregation, 14 March 1917; marched in to New Zealand Base Depot, 25 April 1917.
    Joined 3rd Bn, New Zealand Rifle Brigade, in the field, and posted to C Company.
    Wounded in action, 7 June 1917 (gun shot wound, right side and head), and admitted to 9th Australian Field Ambulance; transferred same day to 10th Australian Field Ambulance; discharged to duty, 16 June 1917; rejoined unit, 20 June 1917.
    Reported missing in action, 12 October 1917.
    Subsequently confirmed killed in action, Belgium, 12 October 1917.
