    Found guilty, 11 June 1917, of being absent without leave from 9 June to 11 June 1917: awarded 14 days' confined to barracks, and forfeiture of 2 days' pay.

    Taken on strength, Machine Gun Details, Grantham, 16 June 1917.

    Found guilty, 4 August 1917, of at Belton Park being absent without leave from 26 July to 3 August 1917: awarded 12 days' Field Punishment No 2, and forfeited a total of 21 days' pay.

    Found guilty, 4 August 1917, of being illegally in possession of Government property on 3 August 1917: awarded 10 days' Field Punishment No 2.

    Found guilty, 16 October 1917, of being absent without leave from 12 September to 25 September 1917: awarded 14 days' detention with forfeiture of 28 days' pay; total forfeiture: 43 days' pay.

    Found guilty by District Court Martial, Parkhouse, 25 February 1918, of (1) resisting escort; (2) being absent without leave from 31 October till apprehended at Havre on 16 November1917; (3)being absent without leave from 30 November 1917 until apprehended at Leeds on 31 January 1918: awarded 6 months' detention, and forfeiture of a total of 321 days' pay.

    Admitted to Gosport Detention Barracks, 26 March 1918. Unexpired portion ofsentence (52 days) remitted as from 3 July 1918.

    Proceeded overseas to France, 3 July 1918; taken on strength, Australian Employment Company, 16 July 1918.

    On leave to England (date not recorded); admitted to Endell Street Military Hospital, 21 September 1918, while on leave (influenza). Found guilty, 8 October 1918, of (1) being absent without leave from 4 September to 21 September 1918; (2) breaking out of hospital at 2 pm and remaining absent till 6 pm, 5 October 1918: admonished and forfeited a total of 17 days' pay.

    Found guilty, Hurdcott, of being absent without leave from 12 November to 26 November 1918: awarded 28 days' Field Punishment No 2, and forfeited a total of 43 days' pay.

    Commenced return to Australia on board HT 'Orontes', 20 December 1918 (invalid); disembarked Melbourne, 30 January 1919 (debility); discharged, Melbourne (medically unfit: debility), 18 September 1919. AWMM
