  • This is the same Frederick William Clark of Gisborne that enlisted for the 8th Contingent in the SA Boer war - Regt # 5196 - refer to his record on this site. Frederick William Clark, Butcher, of Gisborne then enlisted with the Australian Forces # 465 at the beginning of WWI as a Private and was promoted to Lance Corporal.   • Mrs R. Clark, of Manutuke, has been advised that her brother-in-law, Lance-Corporal Frederick W. Clark, who is with the Australian forces, has again been wounded. Lance-Corporal Clark has a record of which any soldier might well be proud. He vas one of the first to enlist in Australia, and took part in the New Guinea expedition from start to finish. He was also in Gallipoli from beginning to end and received his last wound in France. He has now been wounded four times and has also twice been down with fever.
