      Returned to Australia on the Demothenes 26 July 1919.

      Seven children served from the same family in WW1: three sisters were serving as nurses Claire (22/538) and Dorothy (22/537), and Viola (AIF ); three brothers George Gordon Everett, Gerald Gordon Everett(2/215) Frank Gordon Everett (2/2117) and step-brother, Ralph Watson served as soldiers. AWMM
    • Viola Everett was the grand daughter of twice Mayor of Nelson (NZ) - London born Edward Henry Everett (1820-1904) and Hannah ("Annie") Maria nee POPE (1826-1900). Edward, a very successful businessman - in Nelson NZ - established the long running " Everett Bros Ltd " drapery stores which operated in the Nelson district (Nelson City; Motueka & Takaka) from 1864 to 1913.

      On 1 January 1957 Viola Everett was awarded a MBE (Civil) - Australia - for her services to nursing. She had formerly been Matron at Kenmore Repatriation Sanatorium, Kenmore, Queensland, Australia (Appointed Matron 1945).
