    Wounded in action, 28 June 1916 (shell wound, right foot); admitted to 2nd Australian Field Ambulance, 29 June 1916; transferred to 1st Australian Divisional Rest Station, 30 June 1916; to 13th Australian Field Ambulance, 4 July 1916; rejoined Bn, 25 July 1916.
    Promoted Corporal, 7 August 1916.
    Wounded in action (second occasion), 18 August 1916 (gun shot wound, face and right arm); admitted to No 1 Canadian General Hospital, Etaples, 20 August 1916; discharged to No 6 Convalescent Depot, 1 September 1916; rejoined unit, in the field, 5 October 1916.
    Promoted Temporary Sergeant, 28 September 1916.
    On Command at 2nd Army School of Instruction, 15 October 1916; rejoined unit, 19 November 1916.
