Acting Bombardier McKNIGHT was in charge of the guard on this dump and immediately on the outbreak o the fire, he rushed the fire picquet and together with Corporal McGAHAN rushed to the fire. This N.C.O. entirely regardless of personal danger, immediately proceeded to isolate the burning ammunition and to put out the fire. His promptitude in arousing the picquet and his entire disregard of personal danger in putting out the fire was largely responsible for saving a large dump of ammunition and preventing a very serious loss of life.' - 'Commonwealth Gazette' No. 1- 02/01/1919 AWMM British War Medal (1914-1920) AWMM Victory Medal AWMM Training and Enlistment Contribute › Military training Branch Trade Proficiency EnlistmentWW1 7 October 1915 Peter Dennis, UNSW Canberra Age 27 AWMM Salesman/Civilian Peter Dennis, UNSW Canberra Sydney, New South Wales Peter Dennis, UNSW Canberra WW1 7 October 1915 Peter Dennis, UNSW Canberra Age 27 AWMM Private Peter Dennis, UNSW Canberra AIF, 20th Battalion, 7th Reinforcement Peter Dennis, UNSW Canberra Occupation before enlistment Age on enlistment Embarkations Contribute › Embarkation detailsWW1 20 December 1915 Peter Dennis, UNSW Canberra from Sydney, New South Wales Peter Dennis, UNSW CanberraHMAT A29 - 20-Dec-1915 Peter Dennis, UNSW Canberra Vessel was Suevic AWMM AIF, 20th Battalion, 7th Reinforcement Peter Dennis, UNSW Canberra Prisoner of war Contribute › Capture details Days interned Liberation date Liberation Repatriation POW liberation details POW serial number Medical history Contribute › Medical notes Last known rank Contribute › Last rank Biographical information Biographical information Contribute › Son of Kate Edward and Andrew Thomas McKnight.
