    Proceeded to Alexandria for embarkation for England, 3 July 1918; disembarked Southampton, England, 16 July 1918.
    Admitted to Sutton Veny Military Hospital, 25 August 1918 (diarrhoea); discharged to Training Depot, 2 September 1918.
    Proceeded overseas to France, 17 October 1918; taken on strength, 2nd Divisional Ammunition Column, 28 October 1918.
    Transferred to 5th Field Artillery Brigade, 2 December 1918.
    Appointed Temporary Corporal, 1 February 1919.
    Transferred to England, 5 June 1919.
    Detached to AIF Headquarters (Demobilisation), London, 16 June 1919.
    Tried by District Court Martial, Warwick, 26 September 1919, on charge of committing a civil offence, that is to say conspiring to defraud in that he on divers dates between 20 August and 2 September 1919 in London conspired with 3023 Pte N. LARDELLI AIF & other persons unknown to obtain the improper issue to divers persons not entitled to same of ration allowances with intent thereby to defraud the public; found guilty; sentenced to be reduced to the ranks and to serve 1 year's imprisonment with hard labour.
    Marched in to Lewes Detention Barracks under escort, 27 October 1919.
    Commenced return to Australia on board HT 'Konigen Luise', 18 December 1919, to serve unexpired portion of sentence of 1 year imprisonment with hard labour (conspiracy to defraud), and to be discharged with ignominy; disembarked Sydney, 7 February 1920.
    Not eligible for War medals. AWMM
