    Transferred to 12th Brigade Machine Gun Company, 25 March 1916; taken on strength, Tel el Kebir, 26 March 1916.
    Embarked Alexandria to join the British Expeditionary Force, 2 June 1916; disembarked Marseilles, France, 11 June 1916.
    Wounded in action, 6 August 1916 (shrapnel wound, right knee), abnd admitted to No 2 Field Ambulance; transferred same day top Casualty Clearing Station, and thence to 6th General Hospital, Rouen; to England, 13 September 1916, and admitted to 3rd London General Hospital, 14 October 1916 (wound: mild); discharged, 16 October 1916.
    Commenced return to Australia from Southampton on board HS 'Karoola', 16 October 1916; disembarked Sydney, 3 December 1916; discharged (medically unfit), Melbourne, 23 March 1917. AWMM
