  • Percy was my Grandfather. He served at Gallipoli, and then on to the trenches in Europe. I have a book which he left, and it is of the Gallipoli campaign. He put pointers on some of his mates in the photos. The book is just about 100 years old now. It is nice to see he has some recognition. He is buried in the Rose Garden, in the Aramoho cemetery in Wanganui, New Zealand. My Dad, and Mum are in the same rose plot, and I will be put there too. He was Married to Lilias Clare Cox. He never spoke of the war when he came home to Wanganui, and after returning was heavily involved in gardening, opening a gardening shop, and founding a local gardening society. In the time I knew him, he never once spoke of his war time exploits, and my Dad never said much of his Second World war time either. Such a shame they never passed on their memories.
