  • Embarked from Melbourne, 3 July 1916; disembarked Plymouth, 2 September 1916.
    Proceeded overseas to France, 29 September 1916; taken on strength, 60th Bn, 14 October 1916.
    Wounded in action (shell shock), 1 November 1916; transferred to England, 27 November 1916, and admitted to Stroud Voluntary Aid Detachment Hospital, 27 November 1916. Granted furlough, 17 January 1917. Admitted sick to Brigade Hospital (appendicitis), Perham Downs, 17 February 1917. Found guilty, 14 February 1917, of being absent without leave from 3.30 pm, 1 February to 4 pm, 13 February 1917: awarded 13 days' Field Punishment No. 2 and forfeiture of 26 days' pay. Transferred to Red Cross Hospital, Devizes, 16 March 1917.
    Commenced return to Australia on board 'Persic', 21 December 1917; disembarked in Melbourne, 12 February 1918; discharged, 14 March 1918.
