  • Andrew Dillon Carberry was Assistant Surgeon to the 18th Royal Irish Regiment. Based in New Zealand between 1859 and 1866, he saw active service in the Waikato, Auckland and Raglan regions with a detachment (flying column) of the 12th Regiment.

    Carberry's drawings and sketches of New Zealand during the New Zealand Wars are held in both the Alexander Turnbull Library. AWMM
