  • Joined the New Zealand Army on 11 January 1963 as a Regular Force Cadet. Posted to 1 Bn Dept Burnham and then to 1RNZIR at Terendak in Malaysia. Served in Borneo (1966) as an Assault Pioneer under Rata Rewiri and Leo Duggan before going to Vietnam with Victor 1 Coy (The Originals). Took discharge in March 1968. Re-entered the military and completed another 25 years of assorted soldiering, including another two tours in Vietnam. AWMM
