    1st period of qualifying operational service, 1962 - transport RNZAF, embarked in NZ, arrived in Malaya

    2nd period of qualifying operational service, Jan 1973, transport RAF, embarked in Singapore, arrived in Brunei

    Ltcol Browne retired from the Army in 1978 to pursue a career in business. He became the MD of Vinyl Products Ltd, a manufacturing business in Auckland. He then moved to Queensland to head up a training comany and then a security firm before buying a cruise boat on the Brisbane River where he qualified as a Ships Master. He retired in 2005. Colonel Browne has 3 children and 6 grandchildren, and currently lives on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland with his Brisbane-born wife Larraine. AWMM
