  • Joined the New Zealand Army in 1967. Completed basic training at Burnham before being sent to Terendak in Malaysia as part of a reinforcement platoon (4 Platoon). In May 1968 was posted to 1ARU in Nui Dat as rifleman reinforcement for 3 Platoon, V3 Company. Stayed in the Army on returning to New Zealand – completed a 20-year career, retiring as a WO1 in 1987. AWMM
