NZ Gazette – Number not established. (QB Honours June 1973) CITATION (edited) Corporal Duncan joined the RNZAF in 1958 and served mainly at Base Te Rapa prior to his posting to 41 Squadron, Singapore in April 1971. Cpl Duncan’s general performance during his tour in Singapore has been outstanding. He has displayed a sense of responsibility appropriate to one of much more senior rank and has exhibited a willingness to work long hours voluntarily on many occasions. He particularly distinguished himself during the move of his Squadron from Changi to Tengah. During the recent difficult period of operations in South Vietnam from November 1971 to June 1972, Cpl Duncan has also been called on to act as Movements NCO on the Bristol Freighter aircraft flights to and from Vietnam in support of the New Zealand ground forces in that theatre. The Squadron aircrews have all been quite unstinting in their praise of his discharge of his duties often effected in quite trying circumstances. In this area as in all other aspects of his work, Cpl Duncan has set an example of dedication and sense of responsibility over and beyond the normal call of duty. Notes to Citation: Born Otahuhu 29 Nov 1940. Served with RNZAF from 15 Jan 1958 to 13 Apr 1987. Retired as Warrant Officer. AWMM
