  • Son of Edwin and Gladys Finnimore.

    Educated at Waipawa District High School from 1952-1955.

    Entered service in the 19th intake of Compulsory Military Training in 1956, then transferred to the Territorial Force. While there he served with the Wellington, East Coast Regiment of the Royal New Zealand Armoured Corps (RNZAC) as a Corporal, then a Second Lieutenant.

    Also attached to 1st Bn, 69th US Armour.

    In Dec 1983, posted to Wellington as Director, RNZAC, where he remained until his discharge in 1987. AWMM

    H579308 NZ Army. On 13 October 2023. Much loved husband of the late Anne-Marie and father and father-in-law of Suzie & Hamish McIntyre, and Simon & Jane Finnimore. Grandfather of Charlotte and Henry McIntyre, and Sophina, Catherine, Thom, Lucinda and George Finnimore. According to Tom's wishes a private family service has been held. The family thanks the staff at Rotorua Hospital, Lifeflight and Wellington Hospital. Messages to "The Finnimore Family" PO Box 119, Paraparaumu. R.I.P.
