  • ANZAC DAY - Quietly remembering a good friend in Ian Glendenning who came back from Vietnam only to end his life in Bishopdale,Christchurch. My sorrow is I was not in NZ those years,. There are others I am thinking about who gave their lives but this is Ians site.
    R.I.P.My good friend.
    Public - Michael - Friend - 25 April 2024
    Report
  • A great friend in the 1960's ,and often remembered with sadness ,not just on ANZAC day either!
He would have been 74 this year-
His favourite saying was "To live fast, love hard, die young ,and leave a good looking corpse"
    He achieved the first three....................
    Public - Michael - Friend - 30 October 2022
    Report
  • It is going on 55 years now but when I am reminded of our high school days, I often think of the last time I saw Ian. Haggard,in a greatcoat that seemed a size too large, a victim of too many battles, he did not speak, and as I now know, his demons were in full control. Had things panned out different,I am sure we would have enjoyed a lifetime friendship-
    Public - Michael - Friend - 12 December 2019

  • Ian was born on the 20th February 1948.

  • The NZ Military never has and never will forget 42097 Lieutenant Ian Ross GLENDENNING. Ian was a great leader and commander of 2 Platoon, Victor 5 Company, 1 RNZIR with pride & distinction. Lest we Forget.
    Report
  • Ian was a friend of mine during and after high school. I am saddened that nobody has left a comment Ian and I shared some good times and I have good memories I will always speak his name with pride- even if the NZ Military preferred to forget him-I never will. Rest easy mate
