NZ Gazette – Number not established. (NY Honours List January 1973) CITATION [Edited] Flight Sergeant Harlick enlisted in the RNZAF in October 1952 and has since been employed on supply and air movement duties. In 1968 Flight Sgt Harlick became the first RNZAF Air Movements Officer at Vung Tau Air Base in South Vietnam. It became apparent that because of the increased number of New Zealand personnel in the area, and the large quantities of air freight which had to be delivered to Vung Tau, that a nationally controlled air movement’s control capability was required there. Flight Sgt Harlick quickly and efficiently set up a facility which functioned smoothly and greatly improved the quality of the logistic support provided for the NZ operational forces in South Vietnam. His outstanding performance in that post played a significant part in establishing a high reputation for the RNZAF Operations in South Vietnam and earned him commendations from NZ and Allied Commanders in the area. His previous high level of performance has continued in his present post. Notes to Citation: Born Onehunga 3 Aug 1931. Served with RNZAF from 17 Oct 1952 to 14 Jan 1975. Territorial Air Force from 18 Apr 1977 to 18 Dec 1984. Retired as Warrant Officer. Died in Massey, Auckland 6 Jul 1993. AWMM
