    Brian O'D; Recall him regularly running reps up and down the steep steps at D Coy base at Plaman Mapu in Borneo. Believe he suffered a fatal heart attack whilst on a forest run near Kawerau.

Services Cremation Block; E, Plot; 76. [-39.05879, 174.09295] LEST WE FORGET Garth was a platoon Commander in D Company 1 RNZIR based at Plaman Mapu in Sarawak during the Borneo Confrontation 1966. Well respected leader ONWARD.

  • I finally got to Vietnam Dad and saw where you all fought. The place that ultimately killed you. So peaceful now. Your camp is barely visible but I could still imagine you all there. Knowing you, I'm sure there was much laughter and joking around. A salute to you all who fought there. I laid flowers at the memorial on behalf of all of us... Mum, Kirsten, myself and Justin ..the last post playing in the background. You were right, it is a beautiful place in peace time. I'm sorry you never got to see that. Cheers to you this ANZAC day. Love always D
