  • Enlisted in the New Zealand Army in 1960 as a Regular Force Cadet. Graduated at the end of 1961 into Royal New Zealand Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (RNZEME) as a Fitter and Turner. Took early release, then rejoined in 1964. Served in 1st Battalion, Royal New Zealand Infantry Regiment (RNZIR) in 1965/67, including 2nd tour to Borneo in 1966, and serving with V1 in South Vietnam as a Company signalman. After returning to New Zealand in November 1967 served in Royal New Zealand Signals at Papakura, then changed Corps back to RNZEME, serving until 1972. Source: Last Post. AWMM
