  • 39274 KEEN, Graeme Ronald Born Geraldine on 4 Jan 1945. Enlisted as Regular Force Cadet on 9 Jan 1961. On graduation was posted to 3 Tp, 6 Indep Fd Sqn, in trade of Carpenter and Joiner. Then posted to 3 Tp 1 Constr Sqn, RNZE both located in Addington, Christchurch. Deployed to South Vietnam 20 Sep 66. Deplaned Vung Tau and posted to NZ V Force, RNZE Det in South Vietnam. Emplaned Tan Son Nhut 7 Dec 66 for return to NZ. Returned to NZ 16 Dec 1966 and posted back to 3 Fd Sqn, Addington. Emplaned for South Vietnam for second deployment. Marched in to 161 Bty, 8 Apr 67 at Vung Tau. Task was to assist in construction of accommodation for V Coy. Emplaned for return to NZ 2 Jun 67 and deplaned Whenuapai 13 Jun 67. Both Vietnam medals awarded. Discharged 9 Mar 69. Later commissioned as 2Lt in the 3 Fd Sqn, Territorial Force. Resigned commission 16 Sep 74.

    Served in Vietnam with NZ V Force 20.9.1966 to 7.12.1966, then with 161 Bty, Nui Dat 5.4.1967 to 2.6.1967. Death notice in Timau Herald 3 August with no date of death - late July but no day of death recorded. Enlisted 9.1.1961 and served in RF until 8.3.1969. Joined TF 9.3.1969 and served to 16.9.1974 as 2Lt. AWMM
