  • RNZAF Navigator with No. 41 Squadron (Changi, Singapore), 1964-1966; and No. 40 Squadron (Auckland), 1966-1968 and 1972-1974. Began flying Bristol Type 170 Freighters into Vietnam through Da Nang and Saigon in 1964 via Hong Kong. Transported New Zealand politicians on week-long tour through South Vietnam in 1965 – included visits to Saigon and Qui Nhon. No. 40 and No. 41 Squadron (C-130 Hercules) carried troops and supplies in and out of Vietnam (from Vung Tau and Saigon) on a regular basis until 1972. AWMM
