    Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (MBE) (Military) AWMM
    Notes to citation: Born Wellington 29 Nov 1936; Served with RNZAF 24 April 1954 to 8 March 1977. In Dec 1967, Wing Commander Scrimshaw was posted as CO 75 Sqn (Vampire) at Ohakea until his posting to South Vietnam as Forward Air Controller on attachment to the US Air Force in 1968. On completion of his tour in South Vietnam, in Jan-May 1970 he undertook a role training Skyhawk jet fighters in the US, returning to NZ as CO 75 Sqn until Apr 1971 when he became Executive Officer Strike Wing HQ. His distinguished service in all of these roles was recognised by the award of the MBE. Also awarded an Air Force Cross in Queens Birthday Honours 1966 Retired as a Wing Commander. AWMM
