  • WO1 Daniel Wilson served 21 and a half years in the New Zealand Army (Compulsory Military Training 13 September 1952 - 11 September 1955 and as a Regular 18 July 1957 - 26 January 1979) with time spent in both the RNZIR and the NZSAS. Danny retired 26 January 1979 at the rank of WO1.

    Read citation for BEM. Enlisted in the NZ Army in 1957 and served with 1 NZ Regt 1957-59 then joined 1 Ranger Sqn as a Tpr in 1960. Served in Thailand and two tours in Borneo before going to Vietnam as Troop WO. Buried in Papakura Cemetery, Services section. AWMM
