  • Was captured and taken to a German Prisoner of War Camp in 1943 (Source: NZ Herald, 28/10/2015).

    Part of the Bomber Command, and the last survivour of the 25 New Zealand Prisoners of War to have survived the great march from Stalag Luft VI in February 1945. (New Zealand Herald).

    Williams was also a member of the Goldfish Club. On 23rd September 1943 he ditched over the northsea while on a bombing operation of Hanover, whilst with the Royal Canadian Air Force, 432 Squadron. The cause of the incident was flak and no petrol. They were rescued after on the fourth day at sea by the German Air Sea Rescue Launch (The Goldfish Club). AWMM
