Alastair McGregor Scott

Alastair McGregor Scott, born Gisborne, New Zealand, 1 May 1921. He attended Gisborne High School before joining the RNZAF in 1940 and travelling to the United Kingdom via Canada. He returned to New Zealand via Portugal and New York in 1943 before being posted to No 6 Flying Boat Squadron, operating PBY-5 Catalinas from Halavo Bay, Solomon Islands, as Squadron Adjutant. After the war he remained in the RNZAF being posted to Adj. Zeaairtaf, Adj. 5 Squadron, Adj. Santo, Adj. Fiji, CO School of Admin., Whenuapai, Senior Secretarial Officer Ohakea, and Chair of the Combined Services Pay Committee. Wing Commander Alastair 'Scotty' Scott retired in 1971, he died in South Australia on 22 November 1993.
