  • Worked as cotton handloom weaver in Paisley, Scotland but had apparently married his wife Elizabeth nee Connell in Cork, Ireland, c1829-30. In 1841, he was living at 6 Neilson St, Abbey, Paisley.

    Arrived as immigrant on Duchess of Argyll in 1842. He was awarded scrip for his service in the militia and appears to have used it to purchase 40 acres of land in Hunua, which he sold in 1864. It is unclear whether he ever lived in Hunua. He may have remained in Auckland from his arrival in 1842 until his death in 1877.(Source:Public Source) AWMM
