"Flying Officer Alexander in the course of his tour of duty, has attacked very many targets, including Berlin, Hamburg, and important centers in the Ruhr. He was displyed great skill and determination, and obtained many successes. One night in August during an attack on Berlin his aircraft was attacked by several fighters, Flying Officer Alexander skilfully out-manoeuvered the enemy aircraft, thereby enabling his gunner to shoot down one of the attackers.
