  • Embarked with the Royal New Zealand Air Force, attached to the Royal Canadian Air Force for training, leaving Auckland 10 May 1942, arriving in Los Angles on 1 June 1942.

    Gained his Pilot's badge and became Sergeant in October 1942, Promoted from Pilot Officer to Flying Officer in April 1943, promoted from Flying Officer to Flight Lieutenant 9th October 1944.

    Served with the Royal New Zealand Air Force for five years, and then took up a commission with the Royal Air Force. From the Feilding Express 5: 1 August 1946 - 30 July 1948. AWMM
