    New Zealand Herald, February 6, 2018 "WHITELAW, Alan. Awarded the DFC, Service NZ 413719. Passed away 28 January 2018. Aged 101. Cremated on 31 January 2018 in Kerikeri after a short day in Whangarei Hospital and Kerikeri Retirement Village. Alan was a lifetime member of the Russell RSA and will be missed by his comrades. Loved uncle of Andrew (Wellsford), William (Bill) (Ohau), Ruth (Paraparaumu), and Mary (Kawerau). Good friends Darlene and Dick Mahoney (Michigan USA) and best mate Ron (Paihia). A Memorial Service will be held at Paihia Military Cemetery, at a later known date. Rest in peace." AWMM
