  • I have had a close association with Sir Ian Turbott for 10 years. Sir Ian Turbott led our NZ Veteran marches in the Sydney ANZAC Day Parade every year and officiated at our annual ANZAC Day Service of Commemoration and Service of Remembrance at the Church of Te Wairua Tapu. However, on New Years day 2013, I was awarded the Queens Service Medal for services to the Veteran and Maori communities. After researching who supported my award, I found out that one of the WWII Veterans was Sir Ian Turbott. As my investiture was held in Sydney, I was very pleased to have Sir Ian Turbott attend the ceremony and say a few words. I will be forever grateful for what Sir Ian Turbott did for me, his camaraderie and his friendship and will miss him dearly. Lest We Forget.
