Unit history sheet records 3 flights into Vietnam first 8.5.1970.

    See Unit History 17/11/68, 11/8/69, 8/5/70.

S/Ldr Evison completed a local Singapore Category test with S/Ldr Bill Cranfield on 5/11/68. Although Evison was a pilot this categorisation test would have been necessary if he intended to fly one of the Squadron’s Freighters. This was followed shortly after by a SVN flight on 17/11/68 that went through Vietnam on route to Hong Kong Trainer.

Scotty has two other flights into SVN for Evison 11/8/69 to Phu Cat, Vung Tau and Saigon, and then another fight to HK through Manila and Saigon (SVN) on 8/5/70. The first and second flights into SVN were with the Squadron CO Bill Cranfield. The Third flight was with S/Ldr Gordon Thompson who was also CO of the Sqn following Cranfield. Sounds like VIP event with CO in support. AWMM
