  • Serving in seaplane carrier age 28 is buried at Edinburgh [Morningside] Cemetary, Ref J-840 - born Wellington living in Napier - joined RNR in 1914 in Britain while serving with the Union Steam Ship Co. - posted to City of Oxford which was taken over by the Admiralty, from July 1915 ship served as kite balloon ship & seaplane carrier, posted to aircraft carrier HMS Pegasus in June 1917, then HMS Nairana August 1917 - hospitalised in December 1918 - died of pneumonia as a pandemic victim age 28 AWMM
