David Leonardo Patrick de Treend

-
The first time I met Pedro, I was doing night shift at the Hawkes Bay Hospital on Anzac Day 2012. Pedro had gotten dressed and slept on the sofa, so he could make it to the dawn service. But when he got up, he cut his leg on the corner of the coffee table, and was bleeding badly. He came to the emergency department, and asked us (very kindly) to treat his wound so he could make it to the service. Glad to say we treated him and he was able to leave the emergency department in time to make the service. We got this photo before he was discharged. Saw him again a year later, and not only he remembered me, but he could recall our whole conversation from our first meeting.
