  • Squadron Leader Sharp acted as Air Liaison Officer for Brigadier Bernard Fergusson during the Chindits expedition and was cenetrally invoolved with the chossing and setting up of supply drop locations behind enemery lines in Burma.

    "On 27 January 1942 Squadron Leader Sharp flew a Hurricane of 258 Squadron Royal Air Force off the deck of HMS Indomitable to Batavia, his first tour being with 258 Squadron in the UK and the Far East. His second was flown with 5 and 11 Squadrons, Royal Air Force, in India and Burma. By mid-1944 he had flown 450 sorties and had also served as an ALO with 77 Indian Infantry Brigade, in October 1942-May 1943 with Wingate's expedition into Burma. AWMM
