    Proceeded overseas to France, 20 March 1918; joined 2nd Bn, Auckland Infantry Regiment, in the field, 1 April 1918.
    Admitted to No 2 NZ Field Ambulance, 25 August 1918 (pyrexia, unknown origin); transferred to 56th Casualty Clearing Station, 26 August 1918, and thence to Ambulance Train No 34, 27 August 1918; admitted to 11th Stationary Hospital, Rouen, 28 August 1918; transferred to England, 6 September 1918, and admitted to No 2 NZ General Hospital, Walton-on-Thames, 7 September 1918.
    Discharged on leave, 24 October 1918, to report to NZ Discharge Depot, Torquay, 14 November 1918.
    Commenced return to New Zealand from Liverpool on board 'Tahiti', 3 December 1918; discharged (no longer physically fit for War Service: brachial neuralgia), 11 April 1919.
    Total war service: 1 year 262 days (of which 1 year 58 days was abroad)
